Indian equity indices ended on strong note on February 04 after the U.S. hit pause on planned tariffs for Canada and Mexico, offering a temporary relief from escalating trade tensions.
Sensex ended 1,397.07 points higher at 78,583.81, whereas Nifty concluded 378.20 points up at 23,739.25.
Shriram Finance, L&T, Adani Ports, Bharat Electronics, IndusInd Bank were among the biggest gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Trent, Britannia Industries, Hero MotoCorp, Nestle India and Eicher Motors.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 319.22 points lower at 77,186.74, whereas Nifty concluded 121.10 points down at 23,361.05.
Indian rupee ended 12 paise higher at 87.07 per dollar on Tuesday versus Monday’s close of 87.19.
