In the digital era of “Digital India,” AI is gaining momentum, revolutionizing various sectors across the country. One such area where AI is proving transformative is agriculture. The application of AI in farming has shown immense potential, with Baramati leading the way in boosting agricultural productivity.
Suresh Jagtap, a farmer from Baramati, has recently adopted AI technology to increase his sugarcane production. With assistance from the Agriculture Development Trust (ADT) in Baramati and support from Microsoft’s AI tools, Jagtap has been able to significantly enhance his crop yields. Satya Nadella, currently touring India, took notice of this innovation and praised the efforts in Baramati to integrate AI into agriculture.
The ADT in Baramati has been guiding 1,000 farmers in using AI technology for sugarcane farming on an experimental basis. These farmers are receiving training on how AI can improve sustainability and productivity in farming. The use of AI in agriculture aims to provide real-time solutions for optimal crop management, empowering farmers to make data-driven decisions.
