Rishikesh, Uttarakhand: Doiwala Sugar Mill has processed 24 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the 2024-25 crushing season, producing 2.28 lakh quintals of sugar so far. Mill official stated that the mill has produced a total of 2.28 lakh quintals of sugar this season, reported Live Hindustan.
If the mill continues operations for another 20 days, it could break its sugar production record of the last 10 years. He highlighted that over 10,000 quintals of sugarcane are being procured daily at the mill gate. However, farmers are supplying only 7,000 to 8,000 quintals.
Dixit urged all sugarcane farmers in the region to focus on ensuring a steady supply to keep the mill running smoothly. He also requested farmers to deliver clean sugarcane by removing roots and trimming the tops before bringing it to the mill.
