India’s benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, ended higher on Thursday.
Sensex ended 317.93 points higher at 77,606.43, whereas Nifty concluded 105.10 points up at 23,591.95.
Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Life, NTPC were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 728.69 points lower at 77,288.50, whereas Nifty concluded 181.80 points down at 23,486.85.
Indian rupee ended marginally lower at 85.78 per dollar on Thursday against Wednesday’s close of 85.71.
