The Maharashtra government on Wednesday signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with 74 companies for investment of Rs 930.11 crore in Beed district of the state, officials said.
The MoUs were finalized during an investment summit hosted by the state’s industries department in Beed city.
According to a district official, companies involved in agriculture and food processing, sugar, oil, paint and other products inked pacts for Rs 930.11 crore investment in Beed district. Of the total amount, two sugar companies will invest Rs 562 crore.
“These agreements are expected to generate employment for 6,036 people,” he further added.
The Industry Department should make efforts to attract more investments in Beed district and work to fulfill the objectives of the Chief Minister’s Employment Scheme, asserted Maharashtra Industry Minister Uday Samant.
