Pradeep Agarwal, Chairman of the Superior Group, discussed the project with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, focusing on the group’s plans for setting up a sugar mill, and ethanol plant reported Live Hindustan.
During the meeting, discussions were also held about restarting the Saraiya distillery, but no agreement could be reached. Instead, a new distillery plant was discussed . The group requires 20 acres of land to set up both the sugar mill and ethanol plant. The management is ready to invest around Rs. 1,000 crore in a proposed project in Dhuriyapar.
As per the news report, last year, after the GIDA Day event, the group had approached the Chief Minister with a proposal to revive the Saraiya distillery. They had planned to settle outstanding bank dues and employee dues to restart operations. However, after discussions failed, the group shifted its focus to a new project.
On Saturday, Chairman Pradeep Agarwal met CM Yogi Adityanath along with former Chamber of Industries president S.K. Agarwal to discuss the new investment. According to S.K. Agarwal, land in Dhuriyapar has good connectivity due to the Link Expressway. As a result, the company prefers acquiring 20 acres in Dhuriyapar. The proposed unit is expected to involve an investment of Rs. 1,000 crore.
As per the report, company plans to set up both an ethanol plant and a sugar mill in Gorakhpur. The project is expected to create direct employment for 300 to 500 people.
