Najibabad: Delegation urges CM Yogi Adityanath for sugar mill expansion

Najibabad: A delegation have raised the issue of expanding the Kisan Sahkari sugar mill before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and informed him about the closure of the mill’s distillery plant, which has been non-operational for nearly two years, reported Amar Ujala.

A delegation including MLA Ashok Rana, MLA met the Chief Minister in Lucknow.

The delegation reminded the Chief Minister of his visit to the Najibabad sugar mill on October 27, 2017, during which he had announced the expansion of the mill and the launch of a 27 MW power generation project.

The delegation informed the Chief Minister that due to the mill’s lack of expansion, local farmers are forced to sell their sugarcane to other buyers, causing inconvenience. They requested that the crushing capacity of the mill be increased to 5,000 TCD (tons of cane per day) as soon as possible.

They also requested the reopening of the distillery plant, which has remained shut for the past two years, and discussed other development-related issues concerning the district.

In response, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured the delegation that prompt action would be taken in the public interest on both the mill expansion and the reopening of the distillery plant.
