A massive explosion and fire have rocked Bandar Abbas, a port city in Iran, according to state media reports.
It remains unclear whether there have been any casualties, as the Associated Press reported, citing local media. The explosion seems to have occurred at Rajaei port in the city.
Reuters, however, reported that several people were injured in the incident and are being shifted to hospitals.

Footage of the explosion has quickly spread across social media, showing a towering plume of black smoke rising from the site.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the powerful blast.
Social media users also reported damage to nearby buildings, with the force of the explosion being felt in the surrounding area.
According to a report by Reuters, National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company has said in a statement that the blast in Bandar Abbas did not impact energy facilities.
Rajaei port mainly handles container traffic and also has oil tanks and other petrochemical facilities.
