Anshula Kant has been appointed as managing director and chief financial officer of World Bank, announced its president David Malpass on July 12. She will be the first woman CFO of the Bank.
Malpass said in a statement, “Anshula brings more than 35 years of expertise in banking, finance, and innovative use of technology through her work as CFO of the SBI (State Bank of India) .”
“She held several positions across the organization and helped navigate a diverse array of leadership challenges.” bank further said in a statement.
Kant will be responsible for financial and risk management and report to the President. She completed her Honours degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College and a post-graduate degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics.
