Mumbai: After swinging 327 points during the day, The BSE Sensex closed today at 38,896.71 rising 160.48 points. Similarly, Nifty ended 35.85 points up at 11,588.35.
Top losers in the Sensex pack included ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, NTPC, and Tech Mahindra falling up to 1.27 per cent.
Infosys, Sun Pharma, TechM, Maruti, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance and HDFC twins were among the top gainers today rising up to 7.20 per cent. Infosys was the top gainer.
On the currency front, the Indian rupee appreciated 17 paise to 68.52 against the US dollar.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.42 per cent higher at 67 per barrel.
