Mumbai: Sensex ended 353.37 points higher at 37,311.53. Similarly, NSE Nifty ended 103.55 points up at 11,029.40.
Vedanta, Tata Steel, Yes Bank, Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp, Bharti Airtel, SBI and Bajaj Finance and IndusInd Bank were among the top gainers today rising up to 4.83 per cent.
Top losers in the Sensex pack included Sun Pharma, ONGC, Kotak Bank, Tata Motors, Asian Paints, HCL Tech and NTPC falling up to 4.58 per cent.
On the currency front, the Indian rupee was trading 13 paise higher at 71.27 against the US dollar.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.83 per cent lower to USD 60.79 per barrel.
