Mumbai: BSE Sensex today on 22nd August 2019 was trading 127.32 points lower at 36,933.05. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty too dropped 44.80 points at 10,873.90 in morning trade.
The ITC, L&T, HUL, Kotak Bank, TCS and TechM were among the top gainers rising up to 1.37 per cent.
Vedanta, Yes Bank, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, ONGC, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank and SBI were among the top losers falling up to 3 per cent.
On the currency front, the Indian rupee depreciated 10 paise to 71.66 against the US dollar.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.17 per cent higher at 60.20 per barrel.
