Sensex and Nifty end higher for the second straight day

Mumbai: Amid the easing tension in the China-US trade war and economic booster by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the indices continued to rise for second straight trade session.

Sensex close today on 27th August 2019 ended 147.15 points higher at 37,641.27. Similarly, NSE Nifty ended 47.50 points up at 11,105.35.

Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Yes Bank, NTPC and IndusInd Bank, were among the top gainers today rising up to 8 per cent.

Top losers in the Sensex pack included Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, TCS and Kotak Bank falling up to 3 per cent.

The rupee was trading at 71.85 against the dollar.
