Mumbai: In a huge setback to Congress, Bollywood actress turned politician Urmila Matondkar resigned from the party. She had joined the party before the Lok Sabha election. Her resignation comes as suprise to many.
Urmila Matondkar said in her statement, “To my utter dismay, the letter containing privileged and confidential communication was conveniently leaked to the media which according to me was an act of blatant betrayal. Needless to say, no one from the party was apologetic or even concerned towards me for the same despite my repeated protests,”.
She had contested the Lok Sabha election from Mumbai but faced the defeat from BJP’s candidate Gopal Shetty. She had joined the party saying that she was here to stay and will not leave after the elections.
