Mumbai: Sensex closed on 22nd October 2019 at 334.54 points lower at 38,963.84. Similarly, Nifty too ended 71.50 points down at 11,590.35.
Infosys got major setback on Tuesday as its shares tanked as much as 16 per cent after the revelation that a group describing itself as ‘whistle-blower staffers’ had accused the management of hiding the true financial picture. Infosys has suffered its worst single-day drop in over six years.
Yes Bank, ICICI Bank were among the top gainers today, while Infosys, HCL Tech and Tata Motors were among the top losers.
In the previous season on Friday Sensex closed at 246.32 points higher at 39,298.38. Similarly, Nifty too ended 75.50 points up at 11,661.85.
The rupee is trading at 70.94 against the dollar.
