Mumbai: Sensex today on Friday was trading 137.92 higher at 39,158.31, while NSE Nifty surged 31.25 points at 11,613.85 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:16 am, Sensex was trading at 39,049 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,589 points.
ITC, SBI, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Asian Paints, HDFC Bank and Maruti were among the top gainers.
Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, M&M, HCL Tech, ONGC, NTPC, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC and Bajaj Auto were among the top losers.
On the currency front, the rupee appreciated 6 paise against the US dollar to trade at 70.96 in early session.
