Mumbai: Sensex today on Monday was trading 72.26 points higher at 40,428.95, while NSE Nifty surged 17.80 points at 11,913.25 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:15 am, Sensex was trading at 40,356.69 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,895.45 points.
Bharti Airtel, SBI, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma and L&T were among the top gainers.
Yes Bank, M&M, ONGC, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, HUL and Bajaj Auto were among the top losers today.
On the currency front, the rupee appreciated 17 paise (intra-day) against the US dollar to trade at 71.61 in early session.
