Honey will soon replace sugar as a substitute: Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla

Kota: India will witness honey revolution like white revolution and will soon replace sugar as a substitute, said Lok Sabha speaker and Kota-Bundi MP Om Birla.

Emphasizing on the Mahatma Gandhi’s policies, he said, “We are generating opportunities of self-employment through Khadi gramudyog commission at the village level. Within two to three years, the impact of the use of honey will be clear and could substitute sugar. Farmers should go ahead with honey revolution.”

Earlier, it was Nitin Gadkari who said that the central government is planning to promote honey cubes, replacing them as an alternative for sugar sachet. He informed the Lok Sabha about the government’s plans to start honey cube production. Gadkari said that the honey cubes are a healthier alternative and can be added to tea instead of sugar sachets. This will boost honey production and help tribals and others involved in honey production.
