Mumbai: Sensex closed on January 10 at 147.37 points higher at 41,599.72. Similarly, Nifty ended 40.90 points up at 12,256.80.
Coal India, Gail, Maruti Suzuki, Infosys and UltraTech Cement were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers include Yes Bank, Zee Entertainment, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank and Titan Company.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on January 9, 2020 at 634.61 points higher at 41,452.35. Similarly, Nifty ended 190.05 points up at 12,215.40.
The rupee is trading at 71.037 against the dollar.
