Mumbai: Sensex closed on February 04 at 917.07 points higher at 40,789.38. Similarly, Nifty ended 271.75 points up at 11,979.65.
Bharti Infratel, ITC, Yes Bank, TCS and GAIL were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Asian Paints, HUL, Nestle, Bajaj Auto and Britannia Industries.
Titan Company, IOC, Bharti Infratel, Bajaj Finserv and BPCL were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers include Zee Entertainment, Bajaj Auto, Yes Bank, Eicher Motors and HUL.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on February 03 at 136.78 points higher at 39,872.31. Similarly, Nifty ended 46.05 points up at 11,707.90.
The rupee is trading at 71.231 against the dollar.
