Shimla: Punjab government has made an offer to the Himachal Pradesh government to supply sugar produced from cooperative sugar mills in the state.
State cooperation minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa made the offer during his meeting with the Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur in Chandigarh. Being positive on the proposal, Thakur asked the secretary, Food and Civil Supplies to work on the proposal.
He suggested the Punjab minister submit a comprehensive proposal mentioning the financial aspects on this account and said the Himachal Pradesh government would actively consider the proposal.
During the meeting, many other senior officers were also present.
