Dehradun, Uttarakhand: Our government policies have helped in financially strengthening the sugar mills in the state, said Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.
Speaking to reporters, Rawat said, “Our government is committed to the welfare of the sugarcane farmers and mills. During the previous governments, half of the sugar mills were closed. We have always kept the interests of mills and sugarcane farmers in priority.”
He said, “During the rule of previous governments, farmers used to agitate for the MSP of sugarcane. From time to time, we had a conversation with farmer leaders and took initiative to solve their problems, formulate policies in their interest and strengthen the sugar mills financially.”
“Now sugarcane crushing session is going on in the mills. It is the result of the government’s farmer-friendly policies and the farmers’ faith in the government that sugar mills are working in the state without any issue,” Rawat further added.
