Haryana government constitutes teams to keep check on hoarding and prices of sugar and essential commodities

Chandigarh: Amid rising complaints from citizens, Haryana government has formed a special team comprising of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs department and District administration to keep a check on the illegal practices like hoarding, price inflation and black marketing of essential commodities.

According to the Economic Times, spokesman of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said, “The government has capped rates of 25 essential commodities including pulses, sugar, salt, wheat, flour, potatoes and onions in all the respective districts and the shopkeepers have been directed to display rates in their shops and not to hike prices of any commodity.”

India is under a 21-day lockdown which has been imposed to control the spread of coronavirus which originated from China’s Wuhan. India is still witnessing a rise in COVID 19 cases. Central and state governments are working together to combat Coronavirus and to stop the spread of coronavirus.
