Islamabad: Controversy over sugar scandal in Pakistan is refusing to die down. Reacting sharply on the allegations made against him by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Umar Asad, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, stated that he is not connected in anyway with the sugar scandal.
The minister has requested the commission to summon him for the investigation instead of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Asad tweeted on social media platform stating that he is ready to face commission over the allegations made against him by PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
Abbasi has demanded the commission should summon him and Prime Minister over the sugar scandal. He said, there is no need of involving Prime Minister with this as the decision was taken by cabinet based on the recommendation of ECC.
