New Delhi: Indian government allowed additional 3569 tonnes of raw and refined sugar export to US under tariff-rate quota (TRQ).
The Directorate General Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a notification in this regard. It said, “Additional quantity of 3,569 tonnes of raw cane sugar and refined sugar for export to the US, under TRQ up to September 30, 2020, has been notified”.
TRQ allows a low tariff rate to be imposed on imports of a given product within a specified quantity and requires a high tariff rate to be imposed on imports exceeding that quantity.
