Pandavapura (Mandya): The sugarcane farmers in Mandya district stopped the sugarcane-laden lorry and staged a protest here. They alleged that the sugarcane coming under Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Kharkhane (PSSK), is being transported to other districts and states for crushing.
Farmers say that mill is all set to start operations. All preparations are underway, and it is not right for the sugar factory owners of other districts and states to purchase the cane.
Stopping the lorry on the Mysuru road near PSSK sugar mill, farmers said that they won’t allow the sugarcane from this region to transport to other places.
They demanded that we have already requested the deputy commissioner to not to allow cane grown in the region to be transported to other mills. The district administration should take stern measures
