Bagpat, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers across the district have shown resentment over the delay in getting their pending cane arrears.
According to the news report published in Livehindustan.com, they have decided to meet the chief minister over cane dues issue and ask him to instruct sugar mills to clear pending arrears.
The farmers were gathered at Ranchhar village on Sunday and discussed the strategy and future course of action.
Farmers claim they are facing a financial crisis due to lockdown. If they get pending cane arrears then it would be very helpful for them. They said electricity bills farmers have received during lockdown are exorbitant and are unable to pay the bills due to lack of funds. Therefore the government should waive off the bills.
