Mumbai: Equity benchmark indices ended higher on Wednesday. Sensex closed on August 19, 2020 at 86.47 points higher at 38,614.79. Nifty ended 23.05 points high at 11,408.40.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on August 18, 2020 at 477.54 points higher at 38,528.32. Nifty ended 138.25 points high at 11,385.35.
Zee Entertainment, GAIL, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Bajaj Auto, Nestle, ONGC, Coal India and Wipro.
