Ajara: The farmers, members and the cane cutters are worried about the future of the Ajara Co-operative sugar mill as it is expected that mill may not take up cane crushing this year.
The mill is in the crisis from last one year. Angry employees from the mill had locked the office of Chairman Ashok Charati in March this year over their demands. The members of the mill finally passed a resolution to start cane crushing this year, but the mill administration has not taken steps in this regard.
According to the reports, Directors have signed contracts with other mills for cane crushing. Following which, workers expressed that the mill is not in a mood to start crushing this year. This resulted into the heated argument between the mill administration and the representatives of farmers, transporters and cane cutters.
