AB Mauri Sri Lanka, the leading manufacturer of yeast and bakery ingredients, said it has commissioned the newly established icing sugar grinding plant. This new facility, endowed with the latest European technology, will make it possible to boost productivity and provide high-quality products while catering to the increasing demand for fine icing sugar, reports Daily Mirror.
The plant was inaugurated by the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Andrew Patrick. His visit marks a key moment in AB Mauri Sri Lanka’s 30-year history of leadership in the bakery ingredients sector and highlights the strong trade relationship between the UK and Sri Lanka.
AB Mauri Sri Lanka is renowned for its excellent icing sugar-a product that it produces with the finest texture and colour, which is white, and constant quality. The new plant further enhances the company’s ability to deliver reliable products that meet customers’ expectations.
The company has managed to get an important monthly contract with Fonterra’s NZMP, further winning the heart, of course, and essentially it is a major victory that shows the trust placed in its product offerings. The new facility will facilitate AB Mauri Sri Lanka to provide this agreement and also other collaborations with renowned food brands.
Conforming to international demands, AB Mauri Sri Lanka is now planning to increase sales in neighbouring countries to further intensify its role as a premium icing sugar supplier in the region.
Being part of the global food and retail business in the ABF group in 47 countries, AB Mauri Sri Lanka benefits from the support of a large organization. ABF continues investing in new technologies, working on the reduction of its environmental footprint while contributing positively toward society and thus must ensure sustainable growth for the future.
