Mandya: The district administration has instructed all the five private Sugar Mills from the district to start sugarcane operations from mid-July.
There are total seven sugar mills in the district out of which government-owned MySugar and PSSK are not operating due to technical problems.
The decision was taken in a meeting conducted by the Deputy Commissioner regarding the sugarcane crushing season for the 2020-21 season According to the release from the Department of Publication, Deputy Commissioner M V Venkatesh has asked the mills to start crushing operations from the second week of July.
Taking up the issue of pending cane arrears he asked the NSL Sugars at Koppa and Chamundeshwari Sugars at Maddur to clear the arrears by June 25.
