Agriculture Ministry seeks to revive Kenya Sugar Board

Kenya: The government has decided to revive defunct Kenya Sugar Board so that the board will be able to address the challenges the sugar sector is facing now. The ministry of agriculture has taken up the initiative in this regard.

Peter Munya, the agricultural cabinet secretary said, “We have suggested some amendments regarding sugar board in the sugar bill that has been tabled before Parliament. The sector needs a purely dedicated body as it is vast and important for the country’s economy.”

He said, “We want to bring back the Kenya Sugar Board to deal with various issues that affects the sugar sector in the country.”
