In a bid to increase ethanol production in the country, Agronex Bio Fuels is mulling to set up a grain-based ethanol unit with a capacity of 75 klpd at Shinawad village, Aravalli in Sabar Kantha district of Gujarat, reports Projects Today.
As per the media report, the work on the project is expected to commence by May 2023.
The project will also comprise of 2.5 MW co-generation power plant and unit will spread over 19.55 acres of land parcel.
Agronex Bio Fuels had received environmental clearance (EC) for the project in November 2022.
From 2013-14 onwards, Rs 70,000 crores of ethanol have been purchased from the sugar mills and this money has reached the sugarcane farmers. Last year alone, the country’s sugar mills sold ethanol worth Rs 20,000 crore to oil companies. This has helped in making timely payments to the sugarcane farmers.
