Lucknow: The current government has failed to clear the pending cane dues of the sugarcane farmers, said SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. He said, “During our reign, we ensured the starting of a cooperative sugar mill in Sathiaon, Azamgarh but dues of sugarcane farmers here are in crores despite tall claims of the chief minister.”
Speaking to the media after attending a wedding at the residence of former minister Durga Prasad Yadav, Yadav said, “We are supporting the farmers’ agitation. We have been stopped to extend our support to the farmers as our leaders are being put under house arrest to stop Kisan Yatra.”
