Alcohol Technology Laboratory at National Sugar Institute, Kanpur was inaugurated by Ms.
Jyotsna Gupta, Deputy Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of
Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India in the presence of Director, National Sugar Institute.
Looking to the growing need of Alcohol Technologists, since we have increased the no. of seats in the PG Diploma Course in Industrial Fermentation & Alcohol Technology, a new laboratory to cope up with the requirement was needed, said Shri Narendra Mohan, Director. The laboratory is equipped with all required instruments for carrying out analysis of ethanol and other process intermediates during the course of ethanol production, he added.
Ethanol is the fuel of future, thus, National Sugar Institute and Sugar Industry has to play a dominant role. Looking to large no. of ethanol units coming up, the need is for competent
manpower and thus such facilities are required to be developed and continuously upgraded, said Ms. Jyotsna Gupta, Deputy Secretary.
