Bagpat: Amid all odds, Ramala cooperative sugar mill managed to complete sugarcane crushing for the season 2019-20 and concluded operations for this season. The mill managed to produce 890600 quintal sugar by crushing 8304862 quintal sugarcane. Mill had started crushing on November 9, 2019 after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated it.
The mill faced several problems during this crushing season. As soon as the mill started operations, several times it was halted either due to agitations or due to the technical problems in the functioning of the mill. Sometime the operations were halted due to the agitations led by the employees from the mill
Managing director of the Mill Dr. R B Ram stated that with the assistance from the employees, farmers and others we could achieve the set target and completed the crushing operations. Along with agitations, we had to work taking precautions during coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. We have succeeded in completing crushing keeping the virus at bay.
