Vijayawada: Farmers from Arugolanu village in Bapulapadu Mandal, along with human rights activists, met with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday to express their concerns over the construction of an ethanol factory in their village, reported The Hindu.
The petitioners, including M. Venkata Ratnam, K. Raghava Rao, and G. Rohith from the Human Rights Forum (HRF), presented a petition highlighting their concerns about the factory’s potential impact on water resources and the environment.
The farmers, who rely solely on the Veeravalli Channel for irrigation due to the salinity of groundwater, urged Chief Minister Naidu to intervene and halt the construction of the ethanol factory, citing concerns about water scarcity, environmental impact, reported The Hindu.
