Kanpur: The much awaited 4th Annual Convention and Sugar Expo of North Indian Sugarcane & Sugar Technologists’ Association (NISSTA) will commence tomorrow. It is jointly organized by NISSTA and National Sugar Institute of India (NSI). The Expo will be held at National Sugar Institute, Kanpur. The two-day event will witness 300 delegates from India and across the world.
The stalwarts of the industry are likely to join this programme including Bakshi Ram, Director, Sugarcane Breeding Institute.
The event will feature talks on important aspects of the sugar industry and also research papers will be presented in the convention.
Mr. Ahmed Vawada, Executive Director (Sugar), United Sugar Company, Saudi Arab will deliver a lecture on “Manufacturing Technology of Refined and Specialty Sugar”.
During the inaugural function, awards shall be conferred to various scientists and other experts for their commendable work in Sugar & Allied Industry.
More than 20 companies participating in the sugar expo will exhibit products and technologies relating to sugar and ethanol sector.
According to Prof. Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, the expo will give a chance to the students to hear the views of eminent experts from India and abroad, which will help in upgrading their knowledge and personality development.
