Balrampur: Farmers in the district are turning towards sugarcane cultivation as the cash crop is giving them good returns, reports Jagran.
The survey conducted by 154 committees comprising members of sugar mills and cooperative committees revealed that the area under cane cultivation has increased by 1.5 per cent. It is good news for mills who mostly reel under sugarcane crisis.
The sugarcane department has geared up after receiving the survey report. District cane officer Ranjit Singh Kushwaha said that the department has received the survey report that was conducted on June 20. The department will share the details about the survey in villages from June 25 to 31 and farmers can make corrections if any in the survey report after going through it.
