In a communication to sugar mills, government informed that procurement of sugar by Army Purchase Organization (APO) for FY 2024-25 will be carried out through Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and under self certification wherein quality check will be carried out by NABL Labs.
It is also informed that the successful bidding sugar mills for supplying sugar to APO will be exempted from monthly stock holding limit for the quantity of sugar finalized by APO for the consumption year 2024-25, upto a maximum quantity of 37,384 MT. However, the additional quantity supplied to APO over and above the monthly release quota of the concerned mill, will be adjusted against their monthly release quota in subsequent months.
“In view of the above, all sugar mills may like to register themselves on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and participate in bidding process for supply of sugar to Army Purchase Office,” the letter further reads.
APO has uploaded bid No. GEM/2024/B/4779090 dated 20.03.2024 and ATC No. 62502/Q/1/ATC/2024-25/sugar/APO (Pur-I) dated 20.03.2024 on GeM
portal.
