Dehradun: Luxar sugar mill is receiving sufficient cane for crushing as of now but soon it is likely to close 36 cane collection centres as the arrival of crop has almost stopped at these centres, reports Amar Ujala.
The sugar mill has so far crushed more than 80,000 quintals of cane for this season.
Pawan Dhingra, sugarcane chief manager of the mill, said that the mill is receiving sufficient cane from all the cane collection centres. The supply of cane from some centres has been decreasing and we are planning to close the operations of 45 collection centres in the next two days.
The sugar mill will continue operations till the cane grown in the region is not crushed, he said.
