Now the ethanol-blended petrol is available at all the petrol pumps in Guwahati after the IOCL distributed the same to them on Tuesday, reports India Today.
Rajib Goswami, president of the North East India Petroleum Dealers’ Association (NEIPDA) said, the ethanol-blended petrol has been supplied to retail outlets in the city for all vehicles from February 7 despite protest from the Association.
“All the petrol pumps in Meghalaya and Lower Assam have been supplied with the ethanol blend,” he said.
The government has indicated that additional excise of Rs 2 per litre would be charged from October 1, 2022, for the fuel sold without ethanol blending. This was stated by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Budget speed in the Lok Sabha.
