Aurangabad: As the sugarcane crushing season in Maharashtra has entered the final phase, the sugar mills from various regions are closing after crushing the cane grown in their regions.
According to the sugar commissionerate report, till April 18, 2021, in the Aurangabad division, out of 22 sugar mills that participated in the cane crushing operations, 8 mills have stopped crushing. The mills have produced 92.70 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 96.16 lakh tonne sugarcane with a 9.64 per cent sugar recovery.
Out of total 190 sugar mills that participated in the cane crushing operations this season in Maharashtra, 146 mills have stopped operations till April 18. The mills have produced 1046.20 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 998.33 lakh tonne cane with a recovery rate of 10.48 per cent.
