Lucknow: Average sugarcane production in Uttar Pradesh has risen to 815 quintal per hectare in 2020-21 season as against 811 quintal per hectare during last season.
Due to the successful implementation of the schemes by Cane Development Department and hard work of the sugarcane farmers there is an increase in the average cane yield of the state in the crushing season 2020-21, which touched a record level of 815.00 quintal per hectare.
Commissioner, Cane and Sugar, Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy told that on the basis of crop cutting calculations of 45 sugarcane producing districts of the state, the figures of average yield for the crushing season 2020-21 have been released by the department.
According to the data, District Shamli of Saharanpur region ranked first in Uttar Pradesh with an average yield of 1004.28 qt/ha. District Muzaffarnagar with an average yield of Rs 923.20 and Meerut with an average yield of Rs 911.76 qt/ha. ranked second and third respectively.
