Daha, Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh): Unpaid dues from Bhaisana sugar mill led to a gathering of agitated farmers in Daha on Wednesday. During the meeting, farmers expressed their frustration over the delayed payments and decided to stop supplying sugarcane to the mill if payments were not made on time, reported Amar Ujala.
Addressing the gathering, farmer leader Satveer Singh Rana criticised the government for not increasing the sugarcane price. He warned that if the situation remained unchanged, a large-scale protest would be launched soon. He also accused sugar mill of failing to clear outstanding payments, causing financial difficulties for farmers.
Several prominent farmers, including Chaudhary Krishipal Rana, Mangeram, Dharmpal Singh, Omkar Singh, Devendra Singh, Anand Chhillar, Tejpal, Arvind Kumar, and Iqbal Singh, were present at the meeting.
