Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh): Baghpat Sugar Mill in Uttar Pradesh, has begun distributing sugarcane seeds to farmers for the autumn season, reported Live Hindustan.com.
The mill has set a target of distributing 227 quintals of seeds, including the varieties 14201, 15023, and 13235.
The seeds were obtained from the Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Research Institute in Shahjahanpur a year ago and are now ready for distribution to progressive sugarcane farmers in the region. So far, 100 quintals of seeds have been distributed.
Interested farmers can contact their circle sugarcane supervisor or senior sugarcane development inspector to obtain seeds. The mill is selling certified sugarcane seeds for Rs 600 per quintal.
