Bagpat, Uttar Pradesh: After producing record sugar, three mills from Bagpat district have cleared cane arrears around Rs 29.03 crore on Friday. Uttar Pradesh government is taking steps to ensure sugar mills pending cane dues.
In the current crushing season 2019-20, the sugar mills of the state crushed 1,116 lakh tonnes of sugarcane and produced 126.50 lakh tonnes of sugar.
According to the government, under the efficient leadership of state CM Yogi Adityanath, and under the guidance of Minister of Sugar Industry and Cane Development, Suresh Rana, keeping the payment of sugarcane farmers on priority, so far sugarcane farmers have been paid a record cane price of more than Rs.1,00,000 crore, during 2017-2020 period.
