Balrampur Foundation, a not-for-profit initiative of Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. has set up mobile science laboratories to provide science education in remote regions of Uttar Pradesh. The mobile science laboratories have been set up in Balrampur, Barabanki, Lakhimpur Kheri and Gonda districts of the state.
The company aims to give equal opportunity for progress amongst students from the rural and underprivileged areas of Uttar Pradesh. Through the Mobile Science Lab Project, science education and hands-on learning experiences will be provided to students in areas with limited access to quality education and resources.
These labs will not only have scientific instruments, experiments, models, and educational materials but also have enough safety protocols while performing them. About 800 mobile science lab visits were conducted in the last financial year (2022-23) which impacted about 48,000 students across 4 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Balrampur Foundation was established in 2001, to support programs in the areas of education, rural development, healthcare, sustainability, environment, etc.
