BCL Industries will supply 4.9 crore litres of ethanol from its manufacturing unit at Bhatinda, Punjab as it has received a work order of Rs 285 crore from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), announced the company on Monday, reports Cnbctv18.
In addition to this, the distellary unit of the company has bagged another order to supply 1.65 crore litres of ethanol, worth Rs 107, crore to Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL).
The company along with its subsidiary Svaksha Distillery Ltd had participated in a tender floated by OMCs on October 18, 2022, to supply ethanol from December 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023, at various places in India.
Svaksha Distillery Ltd has got an order worth Rs 213 crore to supply 3.65 crore litres of ethanol from its manufacturing unit at Kharagpur (West Bengal) to the OMCs.
Ethanol production in India is likely to increase as Centre approved, in last month, higher ethanol price derived from different sugarcane based raw materials under the EBP Programme for the season 2022-23.
It must be noted that ethanol production capacity in the country has been increased to 947 crore litres per annum till 30th November 2022 due to various steps taken by Indian government to boost biofuel production.
