Hapur, Uttar Pradesh: Officials and members of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Tikait) staged a protest at the SDM office, raising issues such as pending cane dues and others.
They handed over a memorandum addressed to the DM to the Tehsildar of Hapur. Subsequently, a monthly meeting was held at the office on Free Ganj Road to outline plans.
District President Dinesh Kheda stated that the renewal of new land records in all three tehsils of the district has been completed, but there have been numerous complaints of errors in most of these records. Farmers are facing difficulties in getting these corrected, and there should be immediate arrangements to prevent farmers from being exploited. He also mentioned that many meters installed by the electricity department in homes are showing higher readings, and demanded that check meters be installed to address this issue.
District Vice President Chaudhary Janam Singh pointed out that the Simbhaoli and Brijnathpur sugar mills have not cleared the pending payments for sugarcane farmers, even though the current season has ended. Despite this, the sugar mills are showing negligence in making the payments. A memorandum regarding these issues was submitted to the Tehsildar and addressed to the DM.
